The VR system for basic coal mine safety knowledge learning includes: descent procedures (proper cage riding, pre-shift meetings, underground walking precautions, workwear dressing, entry inspection and personnel counting, pre-descent preparations, hoisting and transportation safety); coal transportation process; laws and regulations (Coal Mine Production License Management Measures, Work Safety Law, Mineral Resources Law, Mine Safety Law, Coal Law, Work Safety License Regulations); three coal mining methods (safety precautions for blasting mining, conventional mining, and fully mechanized mining); mine overview; self-rescue and mutual rescue (injured worker handling, self-rescuer usage); five major natural disasters (basic knowledge of fire prevention, roof fall prevention, coal dust prevention, water disaster prevention, gas prevention); mine interactive roaming;

System Functions:

1. User login authentication;

2. The system includes training mode and assessment mode. In assessment mode, user evaluation results can be submitted to the backend management system;

3. Supports user interaction with virtual objects via VR controllers in the virtual environment;

4. Allows users to navigate the system using controller operations;

5. Provides real-person voice explanations;

6. Immersive experience of disaster accident processes;

Technical Approach:

The system is developed using the Unreal Engine, leveraging PBR materials for realistic virtual reality rendering of the underground working environment, and employs particle systems to simulate effects such as water spraying and dust during operations.
